Human nutrition is often measured and
regulated by acids and alkalis. Acid foods usually have a sour
after-taste. They cause deterioration or are corrosive by
nature. Alkaline foods are non-acid and make an acid solution
weak. They usually taste bitter and feel slippery in the moth.
The acid alkaline balance of the body is usually measured by pH.
The pH scale measures from 0 to 14; from 1 to 7 is acid, 7 is
neutral, and 7 to 14 is alkaline. Everything has its own pH,
such as the vagina, stomach, skin, head, feet, and mouth. Anger
is acid, happiness is alkaline, tears of sadness are acid, tears
of joy are alkaline; stress is acid, relaxation is alkaline,
exercise is acid, rest is alkaline, etc. The pH is also a
measure of the speed of digestion or biochemical activity. An
acid pH means fast activity while an alkaline pH means slow
chemical activity.
Foods are oxidized (burned) in the body.
Digested (burned) foods leave a waste matter called ash. The ash
can be neutral (7.0), acid (1 to 6.9) or alkaline (7 to 14). The
objective of nutrition is to keep the acids and alkaline in
balance (proper ratio) and to avoid acid ash.
The normal ratio for acid-alkaline varies
with type of diet. The junk food, animal flesh eater’s diet is
the highest acid diet. It is the most corrosive and destructive
diet and creates numerous dis-eases.
A diet that consists of animal flesh and
cooked vegetables is the second highest acidic diet. The
vegetarian that includes raw and cooked foods has the lowest
acid levels. The healthiest alkaline-acid ratio is a diet with a
4:1 or 80% alkaline and 20% acid. This ratio gives optimum
health and the highest protection against dis-ease.
Acid foods have a high content of phosphorus, sulfur and
chlorine. All animal flesh, poultry, seafood, chicken fetuses
(eggs), most nuts, legumes, alcohol, nicotine and all synthetic
foods are acid.
Alkaline foods have a high content of
magnesium, sodium, calcium and potassium. Most fresh fruits and
vegetables are alkaline. Without large amounts of alkaline
mineral elements in the diet, the body becomes diseased. The
body robs the tissue and bones for the alkaline elements to
balance a high acid diet. This causes a nutritional debt
(deficit). The nutritional debt is paid by organs, nerves, bones
and connecting tissues. The drain of minerals (alkaline)
nutrients from the lungs, reproductive organs, jaw, teeth, then
the bones results in dis-ease (colds, flu, reproductive
problems, jaw deterioration, rotten teeth, etc.).
The alkaline drain causes holes in the
connective tissues (joints) and bones, which results in fluid
filling up the holes. This causes inflammation of joints and
soft bones (deterioration of skeletal structure), and reverse
osmosis, which causes disease by draining fluid from bursae,
muscles, connective tissue, arteries, nerve myelin, etc.
The eating of large amounts of animal flesh
adds large amounts of protein to the diet. Consumption of large
amounts of protein (even vegetable protein) is a nutritional
drain. Excess protein is converted to fat and stored by the
body. The burning of protein causes the accumulation of toxic
acid ash in the body. It requires more air and water consumption
to cleanse (flush out acid ash and impurities. The body cannot
meet the extra cleansing demands and loses reserve energy. This
extra cleansing demand and reserve energy loss is usually the
reason why a high protein diet causes rapid weight loss. The
tissue is robbed of its fluids and alkalinity in order to flush
out acid ash. Chemically, the cells that lose alkaline become
acid while the system maintains alkalinity, High acid diets can
cause the alkaline minerals to be lost in each urination. An
obvious mineral drain, malnutrition and disease state is the end
result of this diet.
All refined, processed, denatured man-made
foods are acid. All animal flesh is acid; all cereals and grains
(grasses) are acid. Animal by-products (egg, milk, cheese) are
acid. Acid nuts are walnuts, cashews and peanuts; all other nuts
are alkaline. Acid vegetables are lentils, rhubarb, artichokes,
beans (kidney, navy, white beans) and Brussels sprouts. All
other vegetables and beans are alkaline.
All fresh fruits and all vegetables ( except
those mentioned) are alkaline. Citric and malic acids found in
fruits are alkaline. In balancing the diet, keep the acid (20%)
and alkaline (80%) ratio as a standard.
Many in the human family have issues with
colon health often due to a lack of quality fiber in the diet as
well as other contributing factors. Such dis-eases as
Diverticulitis, among others, usually occur in the abused and
neglected colon. Often rectal bleeding and discharges appear.
The sight of blood in the stool creates stress from fear and
concern which exacerbates the situation.

Cleansing the body along with the colon is
the first step one should take in rejuvenating your colon as
well as your body. Remember everything is connected so don't try
to approach a symptom without approaching the body holistically
and this includes your thinking.
Remember these basics when it comes to colon
health:
1. Decrease then rid your
eating of synthetic(nonfoods), simple carbs,
fried foods, and meats
2. Increase quality fiber in
your eating with such items as raw foods (fruits
and vegetables)
3. Drink fresh water (alkaline
if possible)
4. Get appropriate rest and
exercise
These are the basics that you can start on
right now, before attempting to cleanse/fast. Your body will
tell you when you are ready and when you are not. You just have
to re-learn how to listen to your body when it is honestly
talking to you as opposed to a body under the influence of
synthetics or parasites. Start your cleansing steps with partial
raw foods meals, real fruit juices and clean water. You can
progress to just juices then water with proper preparation, and
meal planning. Do not, I repeat do not attempt any drastic
cleansing without going through each step gradually.
Know your body by starting off with testing
your PH. Go to my website and order a testing kit. You can test
your own acid-alkaline balance or you can send the results to
me. I will send you a detailed report and analysis.
An acidic body is not conducive to healing.

About Dr. Afrika
Lecturer-Teacher-Historian-Author-Health Consultant

Dr. Llaila O. Afrika is a lecturer and author. He can
help you understand and become aware of natural remedies and
treatments. He is a nutritional consultant; massage therapist,
historian, certified addictionologist, acupuncturist, writer and
Doctor of Naturopathy. He has studied in countries such as
Africa, Europe, and of course, America. Dr. Afrika believes that
each of his clients (from children to the elderly) has been
among his many teachers, and he is fully indebted to them all.
Dr. Afrika lectures on 80 different topics. He contends that
good health does not belong exclusively to any culture or race,
but is a human right and product of nature.
There are many people teaching various aspects of proper
nutrition. Good nutrition is important because our food gives us
the energy to do the things we have to do and want to do with
our lives. How does not eating correctly affect us? The first
thing that usually comes to mind is some people get fat. Getting
fat is only one physical manifestation of a certain type of bad
nutrition.
Dr. Llaila Afrika has carefully studied both the short and long
term effects of poor nutrition. This exhaustive analysis can be
found in his book "Nutricide: The nutritional destruction of the
Black race". Originally published in 1993 he has revised and
updated it in 2000.
Dr. Afrika advises us not to eat any meat. He encourages us to
take any intermediate steps necessary to begin cleaning our
body, mind, and spirit of pollutants. It does not matter what
you do first to start the healing process. Something must be
done and whatever is best or easiest for you is the step you
should take. Dr. Afrika gives you several examples of the things
you can do to get started but more importantly he tells us why
we should clean up our act.
