WindWhispers - The Voice of the Ancestors
Roots and Branches
This is for those whom I have known,
And hope to come to know,
For those from whose blood I flow,
For those whose resting places have gone,
Unseen for days to years in an eon.
Graves untended by familial hand and heart,
The greats are left alone in the dark.
Stories, voices, and accomplishments kept,
Whereabouts unknown to the young ones.
Spiritual confusion, we support other trees.
Like words in a thought with a semi-colon;
We are branches many, some separate, yet connected,
Some afraid while others intuitively directed.
Some use tools, while others have gifts.
Reverence and offerings are used to narrow the rift.
On this and that side of the veil,
We appreciate your contributions,
So we wear the masks and dance,
So that you will not be forgotten,
We are working on remembering in advance.
